AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a late stage of the disease. A person with HIV infection has AIDS when he or she has a CD4 cell count (a way to measure the strength of the immune system) that falls below 200. A normal CD4 count is 500 or higher.

Being held under the theme, It’s Time to Kiss Stigma and Discrimination Goodbye, the competition is open to officers in the public sector, in addition to those persons who work in statutory and quasi-governmental organisations.

G.I.V.E held ten (10) workshops for public officers between the months of May and July 2011. There were approximately twenty-five (25) persons from various Ministries/Departments at each workshop. The objective of the workshops was to improve attitudes in the workplace and to promote standards of appropriate behaviour.
